My job has taken me to a new town. This means that there are new restaurants to try. I recently tried a little place in downtown Hillsborough called Tupelo’s. It was delicious (and no relation to Tupelo Honey Café in Asheville).
I had the pomegranate glazed chicken sandwich. I had no idea what to expect from this sandwich because I’ve never had anything with pomegranate. The chicken was glazed with a pomegranate molasses. It came topped with goat cheese, mango ketchup, lettuce, and tomato; all served on a kaiser roll. It was delicious. The pomegranate flavor mixed with the goat cheese and mango ketchup was absolutely wonderful. The goat cheese offset all of the sweetness from the mango and pomegranate with just the right amount of bitter.
This was a wonderful little place for lunch. I’ll definitely be back to try more!
